Welcome to Campus Collective. By downloading, installing, or using the Campus Collective mobile application (“App” or “Platform”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
Important: Apps made available through the App Store are licensed, not sold, to you. Campus Collective, not Apple, is solely responsible for the App and its content. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and has the right to enforce these Terms against you.
1. Overview
Campus Collective is a peer-to-peer (C2C) student marketplace that connects verified college students to buy, sell, and trade items and services within their campus community.
Key Features:
- Student-verified accounts (.edu email required)
- Campus-specific marketplace (each university is a separate community)
- Secure payments via Stripe Connect
- In-app messaging between buyers and sellers
- Review and rating system
- Leaderboard for top vendors
Platform Role: Campus Collective is a marketplace platform that connects users. We are not a party to transactions between users and do not provide the services or items listed on the platform.
2. License Grant and Restrictions
a. License: Campus Collective grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on any Apple-branded device that you own or control, subject to the Usage Rules set forth in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
b. You May Not:
- Transfer, redistribute, or sublicense the App to any third party
- Copy (except as permitted by this license), reverse-engineer, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of the App
- Modify or create derivative works of the App
- Use the App on multiple devices simultaneously over a network
- Remove the App from an Apple Device before selling that device to a third party
- Use the App in any manner that violates applicable laws or regulations
- Rent, lease, lend, or sell the App
c. Intellectual Property: Campus Collective and its licensors own all rights, title, and interest in and to the App, including all intellectual property rights. These Terms do not grant you any rights to Campus Collective’s trademarks, logos, or branding.
3. Eligibility and Account Registration
a. Requirements:
- You must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university
- You must have a valid .edu email address for verification
b. Account Creation:
- Use passwordless authentication with verification codes
- Maintain the security of your account
- Do not share your account with others
- One account per person
c. Verification:
- Email verification is required for all accounts
- We may request additional verification at any time
d. Account Termination:
- You may delete your account at any time through the app settings
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms
4. Platform Use and Conduct
You Agree To:
- ✅ Use the platform for lawful purposes only
- ✅ Provide accurate listing descriptions and information
- ✅ Communicate respectfully with other users
- ✅ Complete transactions through the platform (no off-platform payments)
- ✅ Follow our Community Guidelines and policies
You Agree NOT To:
- ❌ Post false, misleading, or fraudulent listings
- ❌ Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
- ❌ Use the platform for illegal activities
- ❌ Share inappropriate, offensive, or explicit content
- ❌ Attempt to circumvent fees or payment systems
- ❌ Create multiple or fake accounts
- ❌ Scrape or collect user data without permission
- ❌ Impersonate others or provide false identity information
- ❌ Interfere with the operation of the App or servers
5. Service Listings and Transactions
a. Campus Collective Service Categories:
Campus Collective focuses on four main service categories:
1. Beauty Services: Nail services, hair services (cuts, styling, coloring), makeup, skincare
2. Fitness Services: Personal training, yoga classes, group fitness, workout coaching, sports coaching
3. Academic Services: Tutoring, test prep, language practice, study groups, academic mentoring
- Note: Must be legitimate learning assistance, not completing assignments
4. Lifestyle Services: Breakfast delivery, meal prep, room cleaning, laundry, errands, pet sitting, event planning
b. Creating Service Listings:
- Accurately describe your service and what’s included
- Include clear photos showing your work or service results
- Set fair pricing based on market value
- Specify location (on-campus preferred)
- List only services you can professionally and safely provide
- Ensure you have necessary skills or qualifications
c. Prohibited Services:
- ❌ Illegal services or activities
- ❌ Adult, sexual, or escort services
- ❌ Academic dishonesty services (essay writing, exam completion, assignment completion)
- ❌ Medical services without proper licensing
- ❌ Services requiring professional certification (unless properly licensed)
- ❌ Services outside the four allowed categories
- ❌ Services involving drugs or alcohol sales to minors
d. Booking Services:
- Review service listings carefully before booking
- Communicate with service providers about details and expectations
- Pay through the platform using Stripe
- Arrange meeting location and time
- Meet in safe, public locations when possible
6. Payment and Fees
a. Payment Processing:
- All payments processed through Stripe Connect
- Buyers pay at time of purchase
- Funds held in escrow until transaction complete
- Vendors receive payout after successful completion
b. Platform Fees (deducted from vendor payout):

c. Payment Processing Fees:
- Stripe charges 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction (standard Stripe rates)
- Vendors are responsible for Stripe payment processing fees
- These fees are automatically deducted from the vendor’s payout
- Buyer refunds: Campus Collective absorbs the Stripe processing fees on refunded transactions
d. Taxes:
- Vendors are responsible for reporting income and paying applicable taxes
- Campus Collective does not withhold taxes from payments
7. Cancellations and Refunds
a. Buyer Cancellation (Before Service/Pickup):
- More than 8 hours before scheduled time: 100% full refund
- Within 8 hours of scheduled time: Full refund minus $12 cancellation fee
- Refunds processed automatically through Stripe (5-10 business days)
b. Vendor Cancellation:
- Buyer receives 100% full refund (no cancellation fee)
- Vendor’s leaderboard points are deducted as penalty
- Multiple cancellations may result in account restrictions
c. After Service Starts/Item Pickup:
- No cancellations allowed once transaction has begun
- Exceptions: Contact support@campuscollective.site within 48 hours with evidence for:
- Vendor no-show
- Item not as described
- Safety concerns
- Service quality issues
d. Refund Processing:
- Approved refunds processed through Stripe to original payment method
- Processing time: 5-10 business days
- Campus Collective may issue partial or full refunds based on evidence
8. Reviews and Ratings
a. Leaving Reviews:
- Available after completed transactions
- Rate 0.5-5.0 stars with optional written review
- Upload up to 3 photos with review (optional)
- Reviews must be honest and based on actual experience
b. Review Guidelines:
- No fake, fraudulent, or incentivized reviews
- No offensive, discriminatory, or harassing content
- No spam or promotional content
- Reviews must be relevant to the transaction
c. Reporting Malicious Reviews:
- Vendors may report reviews they believe are malicious, false, or violate guidelines
- Use the in-app report feature on the review
- Campus Collective will investigate reported reviews
- Our team will remove reviews that violate our policies
d. Review Removal:
- Campus Collective may remove reviews that violate guidelines
- Users cannot remove reviews themselves (to maintain integrity)
- False or malicious reviews will be removed after investigation
- Users who submit false reviews may face account penalties
9. Leaderboard and Points System
a. How Points Work:
- Vendors earn points for completed transactions and positive reviews
- Points are campus-specific and reset each semester
- Points affect vendor visibility and ranking

c. Points Rules:
- Points from canceled or refunded transactions are invalidated
- Gaming the system may result in points reset and account suspension
- Campus Collective reserves the right to adjust points for fairness
10. Messaging and Communication
a. In-App Chat:
- All communication about listings should occur in-app
- Messages are stored for safety and dispute resolution
- Do not share personal contact information prematurely
b. Communication Rules:
- Be respectful and professional
- No harassment, threats, or inappropriate content
- No spam or solicitation
- No off-platform payment requests
11. Data Collection and Privacy
a. Consent to Use of Data: You agree that Campus Collective may collect and use technical data and related information—including but not limited to technical information about your device, system and application software, and peripherals—that is gathered periodically to facilitate software updates, product support, and other services related to the App.
b. Privacy Policy: Your personal data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which explains:
- What data we collect (location, payment info, crash data, photos, messages, etc.)
- How we use your data (app functionality only, no tracking or advertising)
- How we protect your data (encryption, secure storage)
- Your privacy rights (access, deletion, opt-out)
c. Data Use: Campus Collective may use collected information, as long as it is in a form that does not personally identify you, to improve the App or to provide services or technologies to you.
d. User Content: You retain ownership of photos, descriptions, and content you post. By posting, you grant Campus Collective a non-exclusive, worldwide license to display your content on the platform.
12. Safety and Reporting
a. Safety Guidelines:
- Meet in public, well-lit locations
- Bring a friend if meeting someone new
- Trust your instincts and report suspicious behavior
- Do not share sensitive personal information
b. Reporting System:
- Report unsafe users, listings, or messages using in-app report feature
- All reports reviewed by our moderation team
- Priority handling for safety issues (within 24 hours)
c. What You Can Report:
- Service issues (no-show, poor quality)
- Listing issues (misleading, inappropriate)
- Message issues (harassment, spam)
- Review issues (fake, offensive)
- Profile issues (fake, impersonation)
- Other inappropriate behavior
13. External Services and Third Parties
a. Third-Party Services: The App enables access to third-party services and websites (collectively “External Services”), including Stripe for payment processing. You agree to use External Services at your sole risk.
b. No Responsibility: Campus Collective is not responsible for examining or evaluating the content or accuracy of any third-party External Services and shall not be liable for any such third-party External Services.
c. External Service Terms: Your use of External Services may be subject to additional terms and conditions. You are responsible for complying with those terms.
d. Changes to External Services: Campus Collective reserves the right to change, suspend, remove, disable, or impose access restrictions or limits on any External Services at any time without notice or liability to you.
14. Disputes and Resolution
a. Dispute Process:
- Contact the other party to resolve directly
- If unresolved, report to support@campuscollective.site within 48 hours
- Provide evidence (screenshots, photos, chat logs)
- Our team investigates and makes a fair determination
- Decision communicated within 3-5 business days
b. Campus Collective’s Role:
- We mediate disputes but are not a party to transactions
- We may issue refunds, warnings, or account penalties based on evidence
- Our decisions are final after the appeals process
c. Appeals:
- You may appeal a decision within 7 days
- Appeals reviewed by a different team member
- Final decisions are binding
15. Account Suspension and Termination
Campus Collective may suspend or terminate accounts for:
- Violation of these Terms or Community Guidelines
- Fraudulent activity or scam attempts
- Harassment or inappropriate behavior
- Multiple cancellations or unreliable service
- Off-platform payment requests
- Fake reviews or gaming the system
Consequences:
- Immediate account suspension
- Loss of access to funds in escrow (in cases of fraud)
- Permanent ban from platform
- Removal of all listings and content
- Loss of all leaderboard points
16. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
a. Platform Nature: Campus Collective is a marketplace platform, not a seller or service provider. We do not guarantee the quality, safety, legality, accuracy, or reliability of items, services, listings, or users.
b. NO WARRANTY:
YOU EXPRESSLY ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT USE OF THE APP IS AT YOUR SOLE RISK. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE APP AND ANY SERVICES PERFORMED OR PROVIDED BY THE APP ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITH ALL FAULTS AND WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND.
CAMPUS COLLECTIVE HEREBY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES AND CONDITIONS WITH RESPECT TO THE APP AND ANY SERVICES, EITHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES AND/OR CONDITIONS OF MERCHANTABILITY, OF SATISFACTORY QUALITY, OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OF ACCURACY, OF QUIET ENJOYMENT, AND OF NONINFRINGEMENT OF THIRD-PARTY RIGHTS.
NO ORAL OR WRITTEN INFORMATION OR ADVICE GIVEN BY CAMPUS COLLECTIVE OR ITS AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE SHALL CREATE A WARRANTY. SHOULD THE APP OR SERVICES PROVE DEFECTIVE, YOU ASSUME THE ENTIRE COST OF ALL NECESSARY SERVICING, REPAIR, OR CORRECTION.
SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES, SO THE ABOVE EXCLUSION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
c. Limitation of Liability:
TO THE EXTENT NOT PROHIBITED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL CAMPUS COLLECTIVE BE LIABLE FOR PERSONAL INJURY OR ANY INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, INDIRECT, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES WHATSOEVER, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF DATA, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, OR ANY OTHER COMMERCIAL DAMAGES OR LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP, HOWEVER CAUSED, REGARDLESS OF THE THEORY OF LIABILITY (CONTRACT, TORT, OR OTHERWISE) AND EVEN IF CAMPUS COLLECTIVE HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
IN NO EVENT SHALL CAMPUS COLLECTIVE’S TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL DAMAGES (OTHER THAN AS MAY BE REQUIRED BY APPLICABLE LAW IN CASES INVOLVING PERSONAL INJURY) EXCEED THE AMOUNT OF FIFTY DOLLARS ($50.00) OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE DISPUTED TRANSACTION, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE LIMITATION OF LIABILITY FOR PERSONAL INJURY, OR OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO THIS LIMITATION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
d. User-to-User Transactions: Transactions occur directly between users. Campus Collective is not a party to these transactions. Users are solely responsible for their own actions.
17. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Campus Collective, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from:
- Your use of the platform
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any rights of another person or entity
- Your listings or transactions
- Any content you post on the platform
- Your breach of any representation or warranty in these Terms
18. Export Control and Legal Compliance
a. Export Restrictions: You may not use or otherwise export or re-export the App except as authorized by United States law and the laws of the jurisdiction in which the App was obtained. In particular, but without limitation, the App may not be exported or re-exported:
- Into any U.S.-embargoed countries, or
- To anyone on the U.S. Treasury Department’s Specially Designated Nationals List or the U.S. Department of Commerce Denied Persons List or Entity List
b. Representation: By using the App, you represent and warrant that you are not located in any such country or on any such list. You also agree that you will not use the App for any purposes prohibited by United States law.
c. Government End Users: The App and related documentation are “Commercial Items”, as that term is defined at 48 C.F.R. §2.101, consisting of “Commercial Computer Software” and “Commercial Computer Software Documentation”. The Commercial Computer Software and Commercial Computer Software Documentation are being licensed to U.S. Government end users only as Commercial Items and with only those rights as are granted to all other end users pursuant to these Terms.
19. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
a. For Users in the United States:
- These Terms and the relationship between you and Campus Collective shall be governed by the laws of the State of California, excluding its conflicts of law provisions
- You and Campus Collective agree to submit to the personal and exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located within the county of Santa Clara, California, to resolve any dispute or claim arising from these Terms
b. For Users Outside the United States:
- If you are a citizen of any European Union country, Switzerland, Norway, or Iceland, the governing law and forum shall be the laws and courts of your usual place of residence
c. Excluded Law: Specifically excluded from application to these Terms is the United Nations Convention on the International Sale of Goods.
d. Arbitration: For disputes not resolved through our support process, you agree to attempt good-faith negotiations before pursuing legal action.
20. Apple-Specific Terms
a. Third-Party Beneficiary: You acknowledge that Apple and Apple’s subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
b. No Apple Obligations:
- Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance and support services with respect to the App
- Campus Collective, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims relating to the App or your possession and/or use of the App
c. Product Claims: Campus Collective, not Apple, is responsible for:
- Product liability claims
- Any claim that the App fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement
- Claims arising under consumer protection or similar legislation
d. Intellectual Property Claims: In the event of any third-party claim that the App or your possession and use of the App infringes that third party’s intellectual property rights, Campus Collective, not Apple, will be solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of any such intellectual property infringement claim.
21. Modifications to Terms
a. Right to Modify:
- We may update these Terms at any time
- Changes effective immediately upon posting in the App
- Significant changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification
- The “Last updated” date at the top will be revised
b. Your Acceptance:
- Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance
- If you do not agree with changes, you must stop using the platform and delete the App
22. General Provisions
a. Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Support Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Campus Collective regarding the App.
b. Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms will otherwise remain in full force and effect.
c. No Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be deemed a waiver of such right or provision.
d. Assignment:
- You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your rights under these Terms
- We may assign our rights and obligations under these Terms without your consent
e. Force Majeure: We are not liable for delays or failures in performance resulting from circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
f. Language: These Terms are provided in English. Any translations are provided for convenience only. In case of conflict, the English version controls.

BY DOWNLOADING, INSTALLING, OR USING THE CAMPUS COLLECTIVE APP, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU HAVE READ AND UNDERSTOOD THESE TERMS OF USE AND AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THEM.
IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THESE TERMS, DO NOT USE THE APP.
